DID YOU KNOW…
Remodeling your basement is the best way to both increase your living space and your investment, especially in a less than ideal selling environment. Even in 2007, with its poor housing market, a basement remodel returns virtually 84% of the price of the project—almost immediately. The longer you stay in the property, the better the numbers get.

Homeownership doesn’t end at the closing table—either for the client or for me, as a real estate professional. More than twenty years of selling real estate in Greater Boston and years of design and project management experience has taught me that.
The decisions you make about your property will ultimately affect your bottom line when you sell. |
At the end of a real estate transaction, you leave with a very expensive item—a new home—and every subsequent decision that is made about that item matters. It matters because you now own an environment, one that functions to serve your need for comfort and beauty. But beyond that, the decisions you make about this environment will ultimately affect your bottom line when you sell.
The relationship between a full-service residential brokerage and a design and renovation company makes perfect sense. And it was my real estate clientele that helped develop the concept. Their questions about what was possible (a wall removed or added, a kitchen or bathroom modified or demo’d, lighting for ambience or task, the creation of urban gardens on north-facing balconies, etc.) helped me to develop and test a very deep “Rolodex” of skilled professionals and craftspeople. I learned and keep learning. In the months ahead, this newsletter will offer the results of that process.
And it’s ongoing. Not only are we in a challenging and volatile real estate market where staying competitive is absolutely essential. But the vibrant design world, and the expanding world of green technologies inform and energize the acquisition of property, its maintenance and improvement. This is the stuff of rHome. Your home. The door’s open.
